3.55s would be a waste of time and money. For GTs ATLEAST 3.73s and for Cobras ATLEAST 4.10s while 4.30s are better even for a strictly street car, especially if you want to be a LS1's nightmare. I have 4.10s, drive it almost daily, and on the highway, with no loss in gas milage.
BTW, LS1s can have 3.42s, but they also have a 2.62 first gear. Ever notice how when you run an LS1 you can usually get him off the line, but around 3rd gear he comes roaring back?
