So you break one cycle with an even LONGER cycle...

The never ending gear ratio discussion... funny....

Seriously, Thanks Steve... I needed that...

hammer on the gear quest, i drive 70 miles a day to work & back, i have the factory 273's, which would be my best choice 3:25's, or 3:73's, i need a better launch, rather than being a highway star, heheh. & which speed cal chip would i need for my speedo, i know- but im new to the mod car's. thank's

Beavis made me do it. It was gears or mufflers. Yeah, I needed that too.

Who's playing the refresh game right now?

Crazy,
If you're doing that much highway driving, I'd look at some 3:55s.
Any more aggressive and you're watching gas go bye-bye....

Is your tranny the 5-speed manual or auto?
A Speedcal will work fine with a manual 5-speed.

I don't think the speedcal will work with the automatic....
Automatics would probably need an ECM module (chip).

Go ALL out! Get yourself some 4.56's and a speedo gear for 0.96's. You can change your login from Crazy Horse GT to Odometer Suicide. Can you say, million mile club?

Seriuosly though, I threw a speedo gear in my 98 GT auto. 15 mins, do it when the car has been off for a while. 98's and 00's have the same automatic transmission, right?

96-98 are the only modular mustangs that can use a speedo gear.

Crazy Horse will have to buy an after-market chip. Don't worry Crazy, they're not THAT expensive...

One more thing:

I think I'm gonna add a "What's My Transmission?" Document to the FAQ this weekend. It will list the different transmissions installed by year...
