Default GT or Cobra for Drag racing?

I'm going to be buying a mustang in a couple of months and was wondering if anyone had any input on which would be better to setup for a drag/daily driver? I have noticed alot of perfomance mods for the 2v 4.6, but it appears little is around for the cobra version. I need about 500 horse at the wheels. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.
