Default H- Pipe question

I feel kind of silly asking this question now but...oh well...but do I need to block off that small port on my off-road H-pipe where the smog pump hose is supposed to go??
Is that like a major exhaust leak I have?
If it needs blocked off, then what can I use?

You can use a large pair of visegrips and crimp the end shut.

HiFlow50 had a good suggestion to plug it by pounding a large bolt into the tube. That way if you sell it or for some reason hook up the line again its not wrecked. Although it will still be hard to get the bolt out after a while.

Use a smaller bolt than the tubesize but SHLACK it with RTV silicone gasket maker (that gasket in a tube stuff). I just finished doing exactly that not a few hours ago. You can actually pull it out if necessary but the RTV keeps the bolt from going anywhere.

Good luck.

Oh yeah, it is a major exhaust leak and I would recommend plugging it.

If you use the copper seal, from permatex, it will take the heat better then the RTV.

I think I'll just insert a bolt that's the same size for a permanent fit. If someone wants it out later on they can cut the tube shorter.
