Just my 2 cents. I have the aode/ 4r70W. I just changed the fluid filter etc. at 50K. I also installed an Art Carr shift kit. This kit really improved the shift feel and will increase the life of the tranny. When you get on it and it shifts to the next gear it feels like( MUSH )with the old unit. With the shift kit you can make it shift harder, firmer or really firmer. I changed it to the really hard mode and it really snaps your neck ( wife dosn't like it much ) . Also used full synthetic fluids. The kit cost 66 bucks from art car.com.
Good luck! |
You are due for a fluid and filter change. Be sure and drain the torque converter too.
Best to stay away from the big chain transmission and quicky lube shops if you can. They can mess you up in a heartbeat. Try to find an independent shop, they usually provide better service, or do it yourself if you can. |
Surf and Maroon are right,
30k is a good time to go ahead and change your fluid. ;) |
