My mechanic only charges about $40/hour. I'll think I'll take the directions to him and see what he says he'll do it for. $400 for the job sounds a heck of a lot better then $1000.
It depends on what he says. My driveway is on about a 20% grade and I don't have all the tools here to do it myself. So if I do do it I gotta drive about 4 hours to my brother's house and do it there.
I'm also doing a X-pipe and a cat-back at the same time. As long as I gotta pull it out, might as well put something better back in its place, right? That and if I gotta pull it out and put it back in anyway, it won't cost me anymore (time or money) to put something else back in its place.
Unfortantly, before I worry about any of this fun stuff, I need to worry about dealing with the insurance company of the women who rear ended me, so it may be a month before I can get this stuff out of my living room and onto my car where it belongs.
