Headers

Just wondering what type of header you recommend for my stang. I have 2 1/2 inch flowmaster exhaust with a off-road h pipe. And what i can expect as far as hp increase. Thanks

I would go with long tubes but you would have to get a new mid pipe

Shorties on a mod motor only add a few horsepower and headers are such a pain to install in the newer cars that it's hardly worth it unless you go with longtubes (took me 12 hours to do myself). Of course longtubes are not smog legal and really reduce ground clearance.

As far as a power increase, I would not bother installing short tubes - not worth the effort. LTs will pick up power quite a bit, usually around 15 HP, but you will need a new mid pipe.

And if your car is lowered at all, don't expect to go over any speed bumps with LTs...

My car is lowered almost 2" in the front and it never scrapes the longtubes over speed bumps with just me in it, but it has bottomed out more than once just driving along on really crappy roads. I tend to have more trouble with humped driveway dropoffs and those damn raised covers at the gas stations. I think I measured my clearance under the headers at a little over 3".
