heads...
Is Ford the only company making heads for the 4.6 right now? Sean Hyland has some. Are they Ford as well? Hyland is sooo freakin' expensive on his parts. It's ridiculous. Anybody know?

Steeda sells the Motorsport heads for $1450
SHM sells the heads for $1400. This really isn't that bad of a deal considering that they are fully assembled. And remember that a good set of heads for just about anything else runs about the same price. P.S. Do you still want to buy my wheels??? |
mustangs unlimited sells the FMS heads for just $800 something. That's the cheapest i've found so far. I don't have the cash for the wheels or else i would. sorry. http://216.59.112.100/interactive/msgboard/smile.gif If you hear of anyone with some lowering springs for sale let me know. No BBK though. http://216.59.112.100/interactive/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Are new heads a worthy investment? They're pretty expensive, would it be better to save up for a supercharger instead? I know you need aftermarket heads to run too much boost.
|
Cylinder heads are a good investment, especially if you plan to hog them out further. And to run nitrous or supercharge it. They are the true heart of the motor. Everything that happens goes through them.

My bad. I misread the ad in Mustangs Unlimited. The heads are about $800 apiece. $1600 for the two. OUCH!! Oh well, has anyone had their stock ones ported and polished? How much would be a rough estimate to get it done? what hp increase would their be?
