Default Low Coolant Light

The otherday when I started my car in the morning to leave for work, I noticed the "Low Coolant Light" came on and stayed on. I checked the anti-freeze later on and its fine. The car runs cool and everything. But the Low Coolant Light keeps coming on when I start my car, but only when the engine is cold and has been sitting for a while (like over night). In other words, if I turn my car off right after I start it, then start her back, the light won't come on. Any suggestions? Thanks

check your overflow bottle it might not have enough in there so that when your engine cools off it's below the level of the probe in there. it could also be the probe is corroded and just needs to be cleaned off.

top up your overflow bottle or make sure it is full. Then check the connections to the sensor.

I agree. I dealt with that for the past year until I recently put in a new radiator that wasnt leaking...if you put water in the overflow bottle before you satrt it your low coolant light wont come on anymore. Check for small leaks around your lower radiator or even just moisture around the outside of the rad.
Good luck.
Later!

I had the same probelm also. Fool around with the sensor on top of the overflow tank and turn it so the connector is basically facing the engine. Thats all I did and the light finally went off.

my lx doesn't have a probe in the overflow tank either. I don't know if they all don't have em or what. But i wouldn't worryabout it to much.
