Angry Low coolant light is driving me nuts!!!Any cheap fixes??

My low coolant light has recently started to turn on periodically and only after I take the sensor cap off and fiddle with the male and female end of the sensors and let it sit will it sometimes turn off. I was thinking maybe I could just unplug the sensor, but would this have any ill effects?? The whole thing is that my cooolant is never low when the light goes on, and the car does not use coolant.I have heard of this problem with other cars, help!!

You can unplug it and the light will never come on. You can also try to clean the two metal pieces at the end of the sensor that sticks into the overflow container they may be dirty, I used a piece of emory cloth and that worked. Now since I have a electric fan I have a JAZ overflow, and that factory sensor is long gone with no effects...

There's supposed to be a TSB about that. Specifically, it says air in the cooling system will cause that light.

However, air in the cooling system will also cause poor cooling. If you car runs and drives fine, with no cooling problems, I say clean the sensors.
