Default How do most people go about swapping to a live axle and ditching the IRS.

How much will a new GT rear end cost?

How much is my IRS rear with 11,000 miles on it worth?

Anyone want to come over to my house and trade in my drive way

This wheel hopping crap has got to go.

One of my friends just swapped his IRS out of his 99 Cobra a few weeks ago, I know he went and bought a used 8.8 rear complete w/3.55 gears and control arms. I'm not sure if it was out of a fox body or sn95 though but it supposedly went in easy. I'll see if I can get some more detailed info this weekend.

Look in the Ford Motorsport catalouge. I have found that their complete rear diff assembly with your choice of gears is sometimes cheaper than what you can find used. Go in with a couple of friends and if the order is over $1,000.00 then the shipping is FREE!!!!!

Feel like starting with a 2.73 locker?

That's the gear I have, but it'll be June before I'm out that way. I'd make a day or two layover to pick up an IRS.

Go to the SVT/DOHC section of the Corral and post there or do a search. Several there have gotten rid of that piece of junk IRS. Here's the link: http://www.corral.net/forums/forumdi...hp?forumid=288
