Default Relocating the MAF sensor

Can the MAF sensor be relocated or does it have to stay in it's stock position? Reason I'm wondering this is because if it can then a ram air system with a more direct air flow could be set up.

Its not recommended for near-stock setups... but my Procharger setup wouldn't work if I couldn't move the MAF...

Where would the ram air come from. Under the bumper setups are a bad idea.
