$305.00 for a JMS chip?

that's the quote they gave me. i can get a superchip for less. which company is better?

Are they still doing mail order stuff? I heard they got hit by a tornado. The pictures I saw looked pretty bad. I had planned on ordering a chip from them later this week when I got my car back. I was just about to shoot off an E-mail and see if they were still working.

he told me that the chip would be going out on monday....so i guess they are.

is that price too high?? i heard from someone on this board that they were a little cheaper than superchips.

$305 sounds good to me for a custom chip burn. Do superchips do custom stuff, or are they all generic?

Yeah, Superchips does custom stuff too. They faxed me a spec sheet to fill out. What i don't like about them is they branch out their buiness to other people. If i bought a chip from them it would of been from one of their distributors.

Well JMS is a distributor as well, just not for superchips. I believe JMS uses chipmaster software. I think the JMS chip is money well spent.

Oh, I didn't know that JMS was a distributor also. The guy I spoke to said "I am JMS". Hopefully I will be satisfied with the chip. Can the chip be helpful in passing emissions?

no no no...

First, JMS uses the chipmaster system created by Mike Wesley at Autologic to burn their custom chips. Second, the chipmaster system is better than the superchip stuff. Three, the quality you get from a chip is really all in the person doing the tuning. JMS is JMS, and therefore, a JMS chip is actually calibrated and burned by JMS.

I have personally known Chris Johnson since 1996. Chris also used to be a contributor (writer) here at The Mustang Works. He's a great guy, and a very knowledgeable Mustang racer.

$302 is what I payed last month. I did alot of research on chips and found JMS to be the one to choose, and Chris Johnson, like Dan said, sounded very nice and extremely knowledgeable. I can't tell you how it works yet......still haven't put it in yet (lazy) - but yes, they're burnt specifically for your set up.

But does the chip actually help you to pass an emissions test?? Mine will be coming up very soon. I get my motor back in a week. It's put up or shut up time then.
