Default Hurst T-bar handle question

Hey guys, just installed my Hurst T-bar Handle, and have a small problem... its sitting right and working great... but the Handle comes with a bolt you put on first, then tighten against the handle to make sure the handle stays in the position you want it to be in.

problem is, that when griping the handle hard, the nut kinda digs into my hand..... any ideas as to aleviate this problem?
