Default Preparing 01 Cobra for supercharger

I planning on buying a 2001 Cobra this fall. Are there any stock parts that are too weak for 8 psi of boost?

Just run the 8psi, dont get crazy, and get a GOOD tune and chip on it. Upgrade the fuel system, and throw on an xpipe too...You should be ok, but obviously your warranty (if one applies) will be out the window...

Thanks Stoplight. I'm not sure what brand I'm going with yet, but I know I'm going to get a kit that includes an aftermarket fuel system and chip. I would like to have a custom tuned chip installed in both the Cobra I'm looking at and my 98 GT, but unfortuately, I have not found anyone in the St. Louis area that has the capability of burning custom tuned chips for mustangs. I went to the Mustang Muscle and Hidden Performance shops and asked them about a custom tuned chip for the 98 GT I have now. Both shops responded, huh?? Maybe I should post a new thread regarding this subject...

If your 98 GT does not have a superchrager or nitrous, a chip would do nothing for you.

After you get an 01' cobra I doubt you will still want to supercharge it. They are plenty fast stock. Spend the money on exhaust and gears along with a few bolt ons and you can run 12's all day N/A.

JMO,
that's almost indicates that you think a Cobra is fast enough......a car can NEVER fast enough.

If I was shelling out the money I personally would get a Vortec with a intercooler. Rice Killer layed down 456rwhp in his 99 Cobra. All stock except for the blower and a chip.
