I've learned with MAC that, the minute you decide you want one of their products, you call them to see when they will be manufacturing them. They make everything in lots, and the number they make depends on how many orders they have for them. They make like 4000 different parts.
My H-pipe was backordered with them for about 6 weeks. I called Mustangs Unlimited first and they didn't have it.
I called MAC to check the status after that 6 weeks, and they said it would be a couple more weeks.
Soooo, I decided to call Mustangs Unlimited again. Just so happened they had one in stock at their store in Georgia.????
Strange, huh? They didn't have one 6 weeks ago, but they have it now? And MAC hadn't made any in that whole 6 weeks? Sounded strange to me, but I bought it and canceled my direct order through MAC. I got it cheaper too.
Sorry, had to share my experience with getting my hands on my MAC stuff.
The point is, don't expect someone to have what you want in stock. Expect it to be backordered. Don't settle for less quality at a higher price just because you can't stand WAITING to blow that money thats burning a hole in your pocket. You will be sorry in the end.
Get the product you WANT, even if it means WAITING a little bit longer. And try not to spend that money elsewhere in the meantime.
Just a bit of advice.

97GTSTANG, I have never had any experience with the BBK's to base any personal opinions on them. 5.0 Magazine did a comparison of X-pipes, and the MAC Pro-Chamber H-pipe came out the winner in HP and tied 2nd in torque. This comparison was done with catless pipes. Next in HP was the Hedman Hedders X-Treme exhaust eqaulizer, BBK Perfomance CNC-Premium Series X-pipe, Bassani X-pipes Crossover pipe, and Dr. Gas! Synchronizing Crossover pipe.
In torque; Bassani, MAC and Hedman, BBK, then Dr. Gas!.
As far as installation, the MAC was a cinch. Are you doing the install yourself? I don't know how the BBK is to install, either.
I'm sure the BBK's aren't bad pipes. I chose the Pro-Chamber, partly because it looks like it has one big cat in the middle. There aren't any emissions tests around here for now, but who knows?
Some more people with more personal experience need to give their opinions.
Anybody???

Thanks again for the response, T-Bone. Someone else is doing the install, and do u know how much the bassani, or hedmans are,and the best place to buy them for a good price. I want the pipes to have cats because i want to keep it legal.
Thanks again for your input

Bassani- $439.95 @ Mustangs Unlimited
They have the Hedman's, but only up to '95's. That test was done on a 5.0, so maybe Hedman doesn't make one for the 4.6.

I ordered my MAC cat H-pipe from J&P Performance in Ontario, Canada. You might want to check them out. Their phone # is 416-751-9766 or you can check them out on the net at http://www.jandpperformance.com . I think they are in the process of updating there site so it would probably be best to call them. Hope this helps.

Well the MAC h-pipes w/cats are nowhere to be found, i even called stores in canada, and they are out of stock, is it that the MACS are that good, or they just dont make enough? Well now i am planning to get the bassani, is there any place i get get them for less than $400. and anyone have any experience with them vs the MAC's please let me know.

I will be installing FMS shorty headers also.
