Maximum Tire Size

What are the widest tires I can fit on my Cobra 17" rims? I cannot remember how wide they are, but I'll bet 97snakedriver can! My tires are still in good shape, but I would like to eventually move up to 255/40ZR17. Right now I have the stock 245/45ZR17s.

275/40/17 is the highest you'll want to go on them

The largest recomended is 255 on a 8 inch wheel. Nittos drag radials run small, so you can actually put 275s on there with out any problem.

I have seen people put 275s on an 8 inch rim, but the side wall ends up looking more like /...\ instead of |...| which is not good.
