Post mod v8 shortage?

well thanks to all who responded to my last post one thing i still need help with is the price what should i expect to pay for a 99 or 2000 gt i was also told buy one of the dealers i visited that what ever a particular dealer has in stock is all they will be getting because he said ford didnt make enough of the v8 engines so he then said i would py a premium for one because of the shortage of gts made somthing like 20 percent of what they were supposed to make he also then said that the "season" for buying them is over, which means to me that dealers would have a hard time getting rid of them so i could have the upper hand i don't know what do you guys think.
