modular help please

test drove a 96 cobra with 56,000 miles on it. Its my first time driving a modular i own a 5.0. Not sure but it almost felt like when i stomped on it it took a bit hesitation to really go, compard to my 91 gt. i know its mostly upper power band but it does not seem as much torque as mine. not sure is that the way they feel when you hit it or is this just a messed up modular cobra

thats a 96 cobra !!

Well ,

I test drove a 97 cobra and it felt the same , I have a 97 gt with gears and all that and my car seemed faster, had more pick up. Due to the 3:27 in the rear end it will seem to weight more ..

Put some gears in that 96 and it will move for you , you will love a little more than your 5.0 and if you put a blower ,,,, sh-- ,,,, talk about power !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I traded a 1999 GT 35th anniversary Limited edition for a 2003 cobra, but the GT had the 4.6 litre SOHC modular and it had tons of lowend power as well as good midrange.
So i would say the car you drove needs some attention of some sort.
I cant compare the 4.6 litre DOHC in my cobra with the one you drove because mines supercharged and its just a beast from the word go.

Two of my friends own 4.6 Cobra's, a '96 and '98. The DOHC engines dont really get moving till around 4000rpm, they really benifit from the bigger gears.. The both of them have 4.10s, and the guy with the '98 is stepping up to 4.30s soon.. But if you drive on the highway alot, i might not go with the 4.30s.. Just thought this would help.....
