Morning knocking
My car makes this knocking sounds in the morning, it sounds like valves. The sound goes away when that car warms up. I chnage the underdrive pulleys and I was wondering if this is the cause but I don't think so because it only makes the sound when is cold.
Anyone having the same problem-solution. The stang is a 99GT. .......................................... Tokiko struts and shocks (adjustable), lower car by 1.5 inch, rear sway bar (adjustable), lower rear control arm, strut tower brace, caster chamber plates,3:73, under drive pulleys, 245x16 michellin (pilot). |
Well I had my water pump pulley come loose on me and just needed to be tightened down again. That noise was constant though. You may want to double check the tourqe on your crank pulley. If not correct it will cause engine damage...

Sounds like it may be the beggining of a rod starting to go. I would seriously take it to the dealership and let them hear it in the morning...

the stangs switched to hyperpathetic's in 93 right... so do the 4.6's use them? What kinda tolerances do they run.. cause i know that LT1's are known to have a lil piston clatter until they warm up.. kinda like what you described.
