![]() I was wondering what exactly do both these products do, how they work, and what they are used for. Is one better than the other and for what reasons. Any suggestoins for a 97 Cobra between the two products? Thanks

![]() I have used the 6AL in just about every car I've owned, it makes a real improvement in performance, it also has a rev limit that you can change with little modules that plug in.
I use the DIS-4 in my '97GT. It has a 2 stage Rev limit, it can also be programmed to retard the timing at a specific rate and rpm, for use with Nitros and such, or cheap fuel in my case. It also comes with an anti-theft thing, that you can wire to a switch, so the car wont start. Both ignitions increase spark energy, and spark multiple times for 20percent of crankshaft rotation to completely burn off all the fuel. I'm not positive, but i dont think you can use the 6AL on your Cobra anyway. The 6AL is for engines that use distributors.

![]() The DIS in the DIS-4 stands for Distributorless Ignition Systems. There for it is used for the 4.6L modular engines and the 6AL is used for the engines that use Distributors. So I say the DIS-4 will work best on your car just because the other one won't.
