Default To X-pipe of H-pipe that is the question!!!!

I've got a 2002 Gt with 2 chamber flows on it and i'm looking for either x or h pipe. I'm very picky about the sound. Dont want any popping or raspy sound. Looking at Mac, Magnaflow and Bassani. Ive heard good things about Magnaflows but wanted to know from the experts in here who have them on there cars. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Last question, is the mac prochamber a straight pipe or does it have cats? thanks again for your replys

Definitely the X-pipe with a 4.6.

I ditched the X- pipe cause it was really raspy and loud, especially with the top down. The pro chamber is a straight pipe. personaly I would go with the H pipe.

In my experience an X will net a couple HP above the H...the 4.6 operates in the upper RPM's. I had a catted MAC H a long time ago, not bad but noticeably different in the upper RPM's. The sound of the catted X is not much different than the H (notice I said catted). I would suggest the X in my experience...Especially the MAGNAFLOW.

I always thought the H made more horse and X made more torque.....

i think this is what Red Mustang Gt 46 was saying, but i put the bassani catted x pipe on my (stock) '97 (it already had flowmasters), and the sound was not all that different. i did notice a slight difference in power (or maybe its in my head) in the upper RPMs though. the sound became more "throaty" but it still sounds like the flows. i was hoping it would get alot louder than it did, not that it doesnt sound ok, but i wanted it even louder than it is now. i sorta wish i went with no cats, especially since ill probably buy a newer stang before mine is up for inspection again (the only reason i bought the cats). i think it is supposed to pass inspection, but bassani offers no garuntee that it will. are you looking for cats or offroad?

My brother has the bassani o/r X and 2 chamber Flows on his '99 GT and it's LOUD. But kickass and mean loud.
The fact that its an auto doesn't help either because you can't hold the rpm you want. I would go with a catted X-pipe if you are looking for something for an everyday driver.
