89-Mustang pulling trailer -vs- 2000 Mustang

I just thought I would share a story that a friend of mine just told me. He went on vacation and took his 89-mustang gt, his girlfriend, and her two kids (12 & 18). He was pulling his trailer behind him and this 2000 mustang pulls up next to him and revs his motor and takes off, so my friend thinking what the hell, nails it when the other guy is about one car in front of him and they go to about 100 mph. When they break it off my friend was right beside him, door handle to door handle and was just starting to pass him. He said the look on the guy's face in the 2000 mustang was priceless. The guy in the 2000 mustang had his girlfriend with him and she was laughing about it. I don't know what his mustang runs yet but I've raced him in my car and we are about the same; I get him by about 1 car length to 100 mph.

I would love to have seen that.

All I can say is that if I were in a car going 100 mph pulling a trailer, I would have soaked my pants with pee. Thats some crazy stuff.

I remeber a story my Father in law told me. He was in his mid 20's and he and his friend had gone camping or something. Anyway, they were in a 65 fullsize Ford stationwagon, they had swapped a 427 in for the worn out 390.
Well, they were almost home when a couple of guys decided to race on a three lane road. They moved to the center lane and waited for the racers to catch up. Once they did, my F-I-L's friend nailed it, the car got loose for a second, when it got it's tractin back, they slingshotted around the two racers.
All the while they were pulling a 10'x8' trailer. Nothing was in it, as they used it to sleep in when the weather was bad.
I have no idea if it's a true story, but if it is, my God that would have be funny to witness.

Actually, its a little known fact that a trailer hitch adds 50hp, 75 if its shiny. I had to take mine off though, whenever I'd pull a wheelie it would throw too many sparks

While on the subject of trailers... Does anyone know how heavy of a trailer an '88 Mustang can pull? I may be moving from TN to PA soon. It would be alot easier if I could rent a trailer to put on the back of it instead of a whole uhaul truck. Not that I'd put a uhaul truck on the back of a Mustang. Just a trailer. You get the point! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif
