Talking Need 17" Tires, what brand?

I need new tires for my wifes 96GT. It has the factory 17"rims. Anyone using Faulken brand tires? Need comments. Dont have the money to get the more expensive tires. Has anyone used a wider tire in the back, if so what size and how do you like the look. Thanks for your help !!

Wider is useless... the tires will crown, and you will run the same performance.

I just got some Nittos 555 from tires.com and they sh!t kick!!!!

Just beat a 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera4 with them!

I had Falkens on my maxima. A decent tire but not sure how they'll be on a stang. I think they're made by Dunlop.

I just bought Sumitomo HTRs. The tires had a good write up but now I'm having problems with my steering (very skittish). Dealer tells me it's tire related so stay away from these although I'm not totally accepting the dealer's explanation yet.

I used to have Falken Ziex 245-45-ZR17 on my cobra. I think they suck bad... I was in the same boat as you as far as price so I went ahead and bought the Kuhmo Ecstansa Supra's. They are Z rated and I only paid $100.00 a piece for them. They are light years ahead of the Falkens. Although if you have the money I would go with the Nitto's. If you want the name of the place I ordered my tires from let me know. Total came too $440.00 shipped to my door. Then I took them to costco and got them mounted and balanced for $20.00. Free rotation and balance for the life of the tires through costco...

Cool

This is a easy one, in my opinion nittos give you the most bang for the buck. I have nittos on the back of my stang and i love them good looks and performance. I use to have a 98' gmc truck that I bought 17 inch rims for and i put nitto 450 extremes on it and they were great.
