Need some serious help quick!!!!!!!!
I just purchased an x-pipe for my 01 GT auto. It seemed to be going fine with the removal of the stock H-pipe. But, when I tried to remove the bottom(left)nut off of the flange coming from the right header. I can't get to it to take it off. Does anyone know a secret to get it off, or what I might be doing wrong? I can't get my socket on the nut completely to remove it. It is the angle of the bolt that is throwing me off.
Thanks, Brand |
You can use regular shallow socket with a universal wiggle (universal joint), but the easiest thing to use is a semi-deep socket with the wiggle built on to it.

I've probably done about a dozen X and H-pipe installs for people, and even a Y-pipe for some Chevy boy. You need three things to be successful... A swivel joint for the ratchet, patience, and a little strength. Good luck. Its really not that hard and it really worth it.

Thanks guys for all your help. I got it all tooken care off. It sounds mean with the o/r x-pipe and 2 chamber Flowmasters. I think I might need to change the mufflers though. It is loud something serious. One last question. Sould I expect any smoke after I install it and finally crank it?
Thanks, Brand |
