looking for info on what size tire can i go to with my current rim size factory rim 245-17 ,looking for more width what size could i go up to..any suggestion would be appreicated.

it depends on if your rims are the stock rims sound like they are from the size i also had that size and you can go up if your rim width is 8 or higher mine is 8 i just went up to 255 17 you can check the with either on the inside of rim or like mine underneath the cover to lugnuts
