New FRP Heads for 96 - 98 4.6

Just read on the FRP site about the new improved heads for the 96 - 98 . They have bigger valves and have moved things around a bit. They are the 03 heads with improvements. The say they give 35 hp over stock heads, not sure if that would be over 96 - 98 heads or over the stock 03 heads but any way you look at it they flow way better than the old heads. I saw them advertised on the site that sells the swap kits and the price was $750.00 per pair, thats pretty cheap unless they come without camsand valves ect...

Cool... I'm interested...

Post the link...

Thanks!

So $1500 for a set of unpolished heads is cheap?

Not where I'm from.

The power improved heads on the 99-00s, when sold as a package was a good deal at $900.
Cheap is the same stuff off of a wrecked 99-00 GT.

It was $750 for a PAIR... that's all you need right, is just the pair... then Parkway Ford is selling the Intake Manifold kit for ~ $220 and the Head Change kit for $105.... Total for everything from Parkway Ford... $1144. But these are for '01 heads.

Parkway Fords Head Kit

And Parkway is saying that this kit makes an additional 54 rwhp on '98s.

It was parkway ford that had the deal on the new heads. Unless i screwed up which is totaly possible, the add read $750 per pair. Then I went to the FRP site and read about the new heads and they sounded pretty awsome. Can't figure if the $750 includes cams, valves etc.. but they normaly come with the heads. I will research more and clarify. It just sounded to good to not let people know! so sorry if i miss quoted in my haste

Parkways main ad says they are '03 heads but when you go to their link, it says they are '01 heads. The site says, "...w/camshaft". Plus they say $390 per head...

Click on the link I provided above and then click on "2V Headswap kit" on the left of their page.

So prices are coming down a hair. Shouldn't some of these cars be making there way into junk yards by now? Where are all the totalled cars going?

surfbeast 11-21-2002 06:42 AM

The $ 390 per head price is for the swap kit with the 01 heads. The heads I"m refering to are the NEW FRP heads for th 96-98. I hope they did not make a mistake on the price, maybe they ment 750/piece instead of 750/pair. All the wrecked 98 up cars are being rebuilt, like mine. ones that are unfixable are being used for parts at rebuliders. For example: my friend does this and has a 02 GT black on black with every option with 4K miles and it's a vert the price on it is $12,900. Only had to replace rear quarter and bumper,no frame damage, car is now perfect. He'll profit 4Grand on the car, not bad profit margin, That is where all the parts are going.

Just checked the Parkway site: The price is 750.45 a PAIR for full complete heads. fully machined with valves and cams. That's 325 per head and they flow better than the 01 heads. Read the specs on them at the FRP site! The site for parkway is

Those are the FRPP or SVO heads that have been out for 4-5 years now. The usually go for $995 per head. I seriously doubt they are $750 a pair.

Didn't mean to sound mean or anything else.

I read the ad. If the whole package is $1100 then, yeah it's a decent deal. Not great, barely good.

Like Bill wrote earlier, the FRPP heads have been out for a while.

Either way, they will help your ride breathe better and more advantageous if you incorporate a power adder later.
