				 | new owner ....gears? Hi, I am the new owner of a 1997 Mustang GT convertible...I know a little about them but I was wondering what would be the most cost effective way to improve 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. I'm a 17 year old kid on a fixed income lol....i was thinking swapping my 2.73 gears (i'm not sure but i think those r wat is stock) for 4.10 or 4.56 gears.... any suggestions or comments on the gear issue? Also...if i do get new gears...after the installation...waht must also be altered to the car? the speedometer gear i heard? anything else??? Also how about one of those Jet performance modules.... my car is stock except for a k and n filter.... please give me some advice....all the help is greatly appreciated!!! thanks, Paul |

Get 4.11's or 3.73's if you do a lot of highway driving. 4.56's would be too steep.
