Newest member of the NA 12 second club!!!

I finally did it! Conditions tonight were temps in the lower 70's and about 85% humidity. On my second pass of the night I ran a 12 here's the breakdown...

60' 1.67
330' 5.23
1/8 8.22
MPH 82.62
1000' 10.81
1/4 12.99
MPH 104.60

Barely a 12 but a 12 none the less. From that point on the humidity got worse and the car slowed down. The short time was accomplished on 26x10x15 ET Drags. I'm sure with a little more practice I can get a lower short time.

I also ran on slicks this past Sunday and a photographer got a pic of my car with my left tire off the ground. I'll have to scan and post it Monday.

Sha-bam!

A 12 is a 12, especially NA. The "new" GTs are strong runners. Keep us updated. And good job! (driving)

Hey congrats.

Question for you. Does your car have a 5speed or auto, and what is your rpm about when you cross traps at end? I just like to know if maybe I should go with 4.10 instead of 3.73 if rpm's arent to high.

That's one heck of a 60 foot time, it certainly helps when you hit the traps...
I may not be N/A, but I hope to join you in the 12s soon with the Procharger and Nittos.
Congrats!!!

It's a 5 speed I go through the traps at about 5500. According to some of the gear calculators I've used I can go up to 110 before topping out 4th. So for NA purposes it would be the ideal gear. For a power adder car stick with a 3.73.

Thanks for that info, helps alot.

Thats exactly where it's at! Figure this I race every Wednesday against this one guy in an Camaro SS (LS1) he runs 12.90-13.00@109 and I'm right there with him at 12.99-13.10@104 every pass. He cuts 2.1 short times versus my 1.7's. If I had his power I would be going low to mid 12's.
