Angry Parking brake recall

What was actually suppose to be done! I took my 1999 GT in and thought it was just a part replacement job. The guy started grinding away inside the car, sparks were flying everywhere. I don't know why he just didn't take the part out of the car and grind it on his workbench. After he pooled the car out the Hand Brake was looser the before I took it in. I just didn't understand this recall. Called ford on it and they said it was for my own safety. I should have never taken it in for this recall. Anyone else know anything about this?????

That is what they did to mine also. If you look on the top of the brake you can see where they drilled.
It is definately looser....
Why, got me...

Yep, mine's looser too now. I guess they had a few incidents where the brake released itself before the fix. They said something about changing a spring in there too as I recall (no pun intended).

I had mine done back in March, and mine was stiffer. I asked the Ford Mech. what he did and he told me that he put some clamp or some thing on it, to secure the P.-Brake better so it won't slip out of place. Huh, thats kind of crazy, how u guys got looser and mine was tighter. Well talk to guys later, got to get back to work.

Question

Yeah I got mine done back in Feb., gotta agree with SilverStallion mine was a lot stiffer once I got him back. I would question why yours was so loose, I would take it back.
