![]() I pulled the stang out to give it a wash and my passenger window wouldn't go up. The driver window went up without a problem. I tried shutting the car off and restarting it. No Luck. I pulled it back into the garage and checked the fuses. I replaced the fuse and reset the circuit breaker. Started the car. Still no luck. What could have happened to my window? I don't think it's the motor because the window wasn't having any trouble going up or down. The other night it was working fine but now it doesn't move. Can anyone help?

![]() You could have a switch malfunction (try raising it with each side's switch - one at a time) but most likely it's a wiring problem. Very common. Remove the door panel, see what you find (possible shorted wire) and go from there.
The fuel filter is under the car; located just ahead of the gas tank toward the passenger side. It's a canister type. Release the gas cap (pressure) before changing or you'll get sprayed with gas. The PCV is located at the very back of the intake, not readily visible. Use a strong light to locate it - it's in the center of the engine - or just go by 'feel'. Do it on a cold engine. The PCV should be removed as a unit: valve, grommet and screen. Go to a Ford or Mercury dealer and ask for the 5.0 PCV replacement kit (about $10.) A bit of a PITA to change but worth it. |

![]() I have tried both side swtches and neither one works. It's probably a shorted wire. I'll get a chance to explore it all day tomorrow.
Thanks for the help with the fuel filter and pcv. I'm learning something new everyday.
