Exclamation piggyback pulley q - IMPORTANT!

what happens if the shop that installed the crank pulley (needed an airgun) didnt connect the old one to the new one (piggyback them) and just the new u/d crank pulley is running on there? doesnt the old pulley serve as a dampner? prolly be good to get an answer sooner rather than later, cuz if this is bad, itll need fixing.....

thanks

It serves as a dampener and may cause damage if left off. Call the manufacturer to see for sure. It may depend on the manufacturer. Steedas has a built in dampener and most piggy back pullies do not.

put the damper on now you will wear the crank bearings badly at higher rpm the stock assebly is balanced and this is part of it

J.J. Listen to Badass, without that damper on you will experiance severe engine damage. Your damper absorbs internal vibrations cuased by harmonics inside the crankcase. The engine is balanced at the factory with the balancer installed. The pulley that you have on there now has absolutely no dampening properties. Make sure they put that thing back on. Good Luck!

i figured as much! i appreciate the extra info on higher rpms...i had to take the car out a couple of times before they could fix it and kept it under 2k rpm the whole time...it didnt run bad at all, ran like it should....so im guessing thats a good sign.. the factory one is back on now with the u/d one...so its all better ...

once again, thanks!
