PI Headswap questions

Whats up,
I have a '97 GT coupe automatic and I recently bought a set of '99 GT PI heads, complete with the stock cams and all the valvetrain. I have also bought a stock intake from a '00 GT. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what else is nesesscary to complete the PI swap. I know I need new head studs, head gaskets, intake gaskets, header gaskets and timing cover gaskets (damn, thats a lot of gaskets). I think possibly you need a new dipstick tube?, heater hose?? Am I forgetting anything? Any suggestions?

Thanks
Jim

yea you need a new dip stick and and heater hose you will also need the heater core feed that runs between the block and the new intake the old one will not work i would strongly recommend the arp bolts for the heads if your ever gonna run any real boost the heads will have to come off again and this will save you about $110.00 good luck with the timiong cover they are a b*tch

One more question....
i heard somthing about a special tool you need to hold the cams or something, is that nesessary, if so where do I find one?

Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated:D

I am pretty sure you're going to need to 99-'00 style valve covers also. If you had '01+ heads, then you could reuse your stock covers.

i`m pretty sure you will be able to use the same covers on the new heads i have a 98 and mine fit fine as for the cam tool yea it helps alot but it costs $375.00 for it. i have never found a place to let me rent one. unless you know what your doing i would highly reccomend paying to have it done i did and i have been working on cars for years if they ***** it up they pay for the engine not you the sohv is a bastartd enhine to work on. because it is a interfearance type setup

You have '02 heads, correct? Thats why they fit.
