please help!!!!
ok my buddy isnt grasping the consept that with his 42# injectors he can ditch the fmu.
heres what he has- 97 cobra-4v -bbk longtubes -h pipe -vortech sc trim, w/upgraded 2v impeller -4.30 gear -afm powerpipe he swears that the fmu is the best...and that he NEEDS it, he is going to be running 14lbs of boost. (50,000mile shortblock) and is getting it dyno tuned, w/custom chip. he has 42# injectors, that will be more than enough to support his motor without the fmu IMO, please try to convince him that he DOES NOT NEED IT, and its going to create more problems than it is going to help |
The only time you need an FMU is when you are under-injected. With your set-up it would run better without it.
BTW: It sounds like you have one bad @ss stang. |
He shouldn't need the FMU, although I still had mine with 42 pounders also....
But the surprising thing to me is running 14 pounds of boost on a 50k engine.... I suppose its in REAL good shape... ;) |

he doesnt read the part where they have built "stock-type" shortblocks, and worked heads. just trying to knock some sense into him we have another guy that is running a 4.56 gear with a p/a c4, and he thinks he's going to finish the 1/4 mile. hes got a mild 306 w/stg II trickflows. hes going to run out of steam at the 1000' darn magazine racers......LOL |
