Question Poor Performance !

Hey Guys !

I have a 01 GT and I feel like I have to much hesitation on the launch. I have added
MAC cold air and 2.25 Flowmasters and a Diablo Chip but I feel like I don't have enough take-off compared to a coupe GT. Mine is a Convertible GT and I know that they are more heavy then a coupe but what is 250 Pounds. Do you think a MSD ignition would help dramativly or not.

Please let me know what I should do.

BTW ! I'm adding a 150HP shot of NOS this weekend (He.he)

What is your launch RPM? I could see some hesitation if leaving from idle. As for MSD ignition they dont have any full setups that work with the newer cars, I know i have contacted them about one for my 2000. They should have a digital system shortly though like the DIS-4's and DIS 6's, cause they said one is in the making.

Those underdrive pulleys should definitely help throughout the rev range. Not sure what your chip does to your timing, but the Steeda timing adjuster is a good way to get more low end grunt if your chip is not already advancing the timing.
If you have trouble with burning out when you rev it up to launch, you could always slip the clutch out of the hole until you are moving. Letting the clutch out fast from idle will definitely make you bog.

What I meant was that say I'm rolling 10MPH and I would floor it, instead of having some kind of wheel spin all I do is take off without burning some tires. (NO My traction control is not ON). I'm not expecting some massive tire spin but at least some of it !
I'll wait until the pulleys come in and see if they make a difference. I have no problems spinning the tires when I pop the clutch but only on a slow rolling start.

N-E Ways let me know if you guys know anything about this.

250lbs is about 2-3 tenths in the quarter a big difference. MAC cold air = 0 HP, Flowmasters = 0 HP, Diable chip = -/+ 10 HP depending on your factory tune. My car lost 5RWHP with a custom burned chip. If yours is just an off the shelf chip then who knows.
