Cool Port and polish...

Can this be done to the stock 4.6 heads? Has anyone done this yet? what performance gains would one be looking at with this done?

Wink

Yes it can be done...
I haven't done it yet, but I know of those who have.

You should be looking at a 20-25 hp increase with a stock set-up...

Hope this helps...

Cool

96GTS

If I were you I would wait till some of the aftermarket companies start making heads for the 2V 4.6. It won't be much longer. I unbolted my exhaust after the H pipe just to see what it would sould like, it was baaaad aassss in the upper rpm range like 4000-6000,
but idle to 4000 sounds crappy and I lost a lot of power. You oughta dyno with and with out the muffs, you might be hurting yourself.

Question

Hey Black,
Are you talking about cylinder heads or exhaust headers? Just wondering...

Either way, they DO make aftermarket heads and headers both...

Cool

I'd like to get it dyno'd. Mine sounds good. Everyone here likes it. Sounds alot like my friends 95 TA. Don't know why our two cars would sound so much diff. unless it's the diff heads and headers that we have. My stang sounds more like a 350 now. It's got quite a deep tone to it. Nice rumble at idle, not real loud. And you get on it and you can hear the sucker comin'!
