Stupid questions
I'm under the impression the exhaust on my car is stock. I will be checking on this Saturday, going up on stands just to see what's up.
1. Can you weld in Stainless Steel to the stock system? I'm pretty sure you can, just want to check because the different types of metal and all that chemistry I almost failed in college. 2. If I change mufflers now, and add an h (or x) pipe later, I can still use the mufflers I put on now right. Dumb I know, but I just want to be certain I'm not buying the same parts twice. Well, there goes any confidence in cars people around here had in me. Actually, I've never messed with exhaust, but this car really needs to be livened up a little. :D |
The answer to both your questions is yes. The stock system is already stainless and if you stick new mufflers and then later decide on something creative the pipes will just be cut behind where your mufflers currently are. Good luck!

yes, they welded my flow's to my stock stainless pipes, no prob, just painted the welds with high heat paint. cya :D

See Ya, Karen You and Steve still coming to dinner?;) |
You betcha darlin. Of course you may not hear the S7 coming over your bumpin system.
I'm all but sold on the Dynomax Ultra Flow SS (stainless). Check out the difference in sound between a stock N/A cobra and one with those on their site. I'm thinking it will sound about as good with the single cam. :D Now i just need to get a deal on the mufflers. By the way, I asked about stainless/non welding because I thought the mufflers would be and the pipes wouldn't. Now I feel REALLY dumb. :( |
duece i was a welder for 12 year's, i cant begin to comprehend the thing's they have developed since, i quit welding for a living, now you can weld aluminum to steel, brass to steel , aluminum to brass etc, it's amazing what you can weld now, alot different then when i welded, cya. :D
