Superchargers

Hey. I am kinda curious if you have to buy a supercharger specially made for a mustang. It makes sense to me that you could find a wrecked car with a supercharger and steal theirs then just buy the mustang installation stuff and call it a day. You might have to modify little things like the diameter of the piping but other than that. Am I totally of base here. Also is it possible to turbocharge a mustang.

Another question. What mods are necesarry for the installation of a SC.

I hope you mean purchasing the S/C fromt he junk yard.

As to the installation, it depend on the make, model and assuming you're looking for one that will mate up to your 97 SOHC?

TDC has a turbo kit out for 4.6L Mustangs, and it runs anywhere from $3999 for the base kit, and up to $5499 for stage II.
Your better off getting a SC kit specially for your Mustang. You probably could just get the supercharger unit, and then buy all the other stuff, but I don't think it would be worth the time or effort.
