Brakes

I own a 98 Cobra and I need to replace the brakes. What type or brand should I use? Do you think purchasing Powerslot rotors and installing them only for the front while I do my brakes would benefit me even though I don't race? If so, what brakes should I use then? Anyone please help me out on this!! Thank you my fellow Fordsman!!

I would replace your brakes with better ones. The following are excellent brands: Wilwood, Brembo, and Baer.

------------------
'94 Cobra
308ci, ported GT-40 heads, Crane 2031 cam .513"/.529" lift 276°/282° duration, 70mm TB, Custom 80mm MAF, JMS chip, Vortech S-trim 8#, MSD, TREX fuel pump, Accel coil, 3.55's, FMS 1 5/8 headers, BBK Offroad H-pipe, and 2-chamber flows.

You touched on a subject which has cost me some money ot figure out. The stock brakes on your Cobra are actually very good by street
standards. If your gonna stay on the street
then stock pads are ok. The first upgrade
would be to Z rated pads. I've tried both
Hawk HPS and Performance Friction 412-Z's
The PF 412Z were better. I have Powerslot's
there pretty good . The Cadium coating keeps them looking pretty. Brembo(AKA Ford Racing)
just came out with a replacement rotor for the Cobra-R. I just got them in the mail.I'll
take them road racing this weekend with
my new PF-90 compound pads. We'll see....
If you want more info e-mail me.
