Mufflers
Which cat-back system is the better sounding/performing for my '97 Cobra? Flowmaster 2 or 3 chamber, or DynoMax?
|
I have a '96 GT and I put the MAC 2 1/2 inch cat back exhaust system on my car. Everyone says that it sounds a hell of a lot better than any of the systems out today. It has a nice tone but it not attracting a lot of cops. Anyway, I really enjoy it. Just my 2 cents.

Flowmasters, either the 2 or 3 chamber, tend to be a bit louder than most. While I like the tone of them, the cops around here don't seem to have much of a tolerance. My dynomax system has a nice deep tone without being much louder than stock....
I haven't heard a MAC system yet though... ------------------ 98 GT Dyno-Max cat-back exhaust, 3.73 gears, Steeda shifter, Ford Motorsport Underdrive pullies, 87mm MAF and Roush cold air kit... |
Have you heard the Borlas? I heard they are top notch but a little expensive.
|
Yep,
I've heard some Borlas, and they do sound good. But the price tag was a bit too steep for my taste... ;-) ------------------ 98 GT Dyno-Max cat-back exhaust, 3.73 gears, Steeda shifter, Ford Motorsport Underdrive pullies, 87mm MAF and Roush cold air kit... |
A bit too steep is right here's some catback prices. All prices are about.

You can listen to the borlas at their website. Even though they are pricey, they have a great warranty. Also, as far as I can tell the borla mufflers do not drone like the flowmasters. I test drove a 97 Cobra with a flowmaster system and between 70-80mph I couldn't hear myself think. Maybe the flows have changed since.
