Shift Point

What is everyone's opinion on the optimum shift point for the 4.6 liter? Right now I try to shift around 5500.
Also, does anyone know where I can get my hands on a hp/torque graph for a stock 4.6? I don't feel like paying to put my car on a dyno.

I have a 99GT which I try to shift around 5200-5300 rpm. I read an article in a MM&FF issue (spring or summer) which tested a 99GT conv. that ran a 14.1 1/4 mile shifting at 5200 rpm. That's why I try to stay close to that number. Invest in a G-Tech to see how different shift points affect your times or get to the track.

Hey, if I were you I would take it to the limit and if you have any problems, put nitrous on it, that will fix it.

Thanx for the advice mabarker. I think I'll try that. I think I'll just put a 250 shot of spray on it and run it past redline and see how fast she goes (the engine, that is).
