What breaks when using nitrous

I've heard alot of people say they that used nitrous a couple of times then there piston broke. What causes this to happen and how. Does the piston freeze then break or pit. How can you solve it. I want the nitrous but not the problems

Detonation causes stuff to break personaly I haven't had anything break but I keep an eye on my fuel pressure and listen for the dreaded detonation demon.I had a 150 shot but it didn't pull hard enough so I changed from a 67/42 jetting to a 73/42 and it still ran without any detonation with fuel pressure at 45 static(no vac)I would suggest a MSD ignition and of course an adjustable fule regulator to realy tune it.Hope this helps later!!!!
