Calling All Audio Installers....

My factory Mach 460 stereo was stolen. Yes, believe it or not, somebody ripped it out of the dash and took off. Why would anyone even bother!

Anyway, the harness has been cut. I need a wiring schematic or something to get my new stereo in. I've identified the ground, constant power, accessory power, and illumination wires of the car. Now I need to know how to hook this thing up to the factory amps. I've also have a couple of other wires that I can't identify and a large gray wire coming out of the dash with 8 smaller wires inside of it. Help!!!

I'm attempting to install a JVC Kameleon LX-30. It has 3 sets of preamps. Front, rear and sub. It also has speaker outputs.

Hopefully somebody will save me!!!

Thanks
-Troy

You can't wire an aftermarket radio to the mach460 system. You can add an amp and subs but no radio.I know it sucks but I pulled all of my mach stuff out and it was well worth it.Sorry !!!!!!!

Beg to differ, but we did it in my buddy's GT. Wire harnesses are out there for every car you can imagine. And if you have the aftermarket harness, the wires will be identified on the back of the box or in instructions. Real easy to do. No hardware kit required. Any questions, email me. Not trying to start a feud or anything but the guy asked if it will work with the factory amps .If you do somehow JERRYRIGGED it it would sound like s!!t ie.motor noies high pitched hissing I have installed custom stereos for over ten years I think I would know a few more short cuts if they were possible !!!!!!!!! My 2 cents.

No, no feud here. A ground loop isolator will take care of that hissing noise that actually comes from the whining of the alternator.

I installed a pioneer head unit in my '97 stang that is equipped with the mach 460 system. All I needed was a wiring harness purchased at a local stereo shop. I think the price of the harness was somewhere around $12-15.
Yes it can be done.

Yeah, no problem to do it. Harness colors match up perfect, and everything, including the amps works fine. By the way TROYXTROY, I know the radio you are putting in your car and they are pretty damn sweet. Nice choice!
