02 gt prices

This is my very first post on this board. So hello all. I do not have a mustang yet, but I have been ok'ed for the financing and have the dealer looking for the model I want. Here is my question. What did all of you people pay for a brand new 2002 GT? I am getting a coupe with an automatic and the premium package. My dealer has not given me a definite price yet. They told me that they would talk numbers when they find my new baby. I have gone to edmunds.com and the car that I want has a true market value $24,028 for the area I live. But Ford is offering a $1500 rebate until 7/01/02. I do not want to pay any more than I have to for this car. I want one very badly but I am not going to be stupid about it. Thank you in advance for your help.

My GT has every factory option except for the auto tranny.

Got it for $21,000.

I'v been quoted for my 2k2 GT with the premium package, but no mach 1000 system for 21600, that is the bottom line price, after tax and the whole nine yards. once I sell my current car, this will be my baby, identical to the one above.

2002 price paid...

I bought a sonic blue 5 spd GT coupe last month for $21,500. The sticker was $25,015. I has the following window sticker details:

options:

rear spoiler, single wing
seat, power driver's
speed control
abs braking sys/traction ct
air conditioning, manual
6 cd changer radio w/mach [460]
wheels, 17" premium alloy

I suppose it is the premium, it has leather and all. I would have rather had the mp3 player and cloth, but oh well, can't have it all if you want to buy it that day on the spot. I didn't trade anything. I got the x-plan through my drag racing cousin who builds F-250s. Also got the $1500 rebate. X-plan was 4% over A-plan price(i think around$23,000). I like it so far. Before driving my mustang I always drove S10s. First vehicle was an S10, and where I used to live 4 wheel drive was very handy. Took a job near a big city now, though. The Mustang is much more fun to drive, on the road. I didn't do any haggling with the sales people. Couldn't after getting the x-plan and rebate. I did see some nice Salenes for sale though. They had one marked down from $46 to $42. My cousin was eyeballing it. Like I have posted before, I need to master the stock GT before forcing air into my manifold. Oh joy.

My Stang

Just paid $18.4k for my new 2002. Tropic green/Medium graphite/5spd with leather seats. They gave me 2k for my '92 LX 5.0, so it would've been about $20.5k if I hadn't traded.

It's getting toward the end of the model year, the dealer said the first 2003's should be shipping in 90 days or so, so now is a pretty good time to get into a 2002.
