Sohc to Dohc

Is there some great difference in the blocks? I see everyone talking about doing 99+ sohc swaps on the 96-98 cars, but not to the Cobra heads.

Is it the cost? Useability?

Seems to me like this is a good way to improve flow and pick up hp.

Early on in my MODing I came across a deal to get a set of Cobra heads and intake. The problem was you needed so many other parts to make the swap. It can be done, the only difference is the cobra has aluminum block and the GT a steel block. Notice that the new 03 cobra has a steel block, also, notice that Roush, Saleen and the other mostly use the SOHC heads on their cars. So, in all the Cobra heads will work with alot of extra work and parts, ( alternator, cables, etc... ) but a head swap in the 96-98 GT with the new 01 heads/intake is so much more affordable.
