low 13's in a 97 cobra.......
that's all i want. either 13.0's or 13.1's in my 97 cobra. not too much to ask for, right? it's already got an 80mm c&l maf, k&n conical filter and 3.73 gears (wanted 4.10's, but i do a lot of highway driving). i have the steeda pullies and timing adjuster ordered and will be ordering the tri-ax shifter soon, if i don't get it for christmas and probably a centerforce dual friction clutch. i'm going to be doing some suspension upgrades in the near future also. subframes, shocks, springs, and trying to decide on which lower control arms to go with (any suggestions?) i'd honestly like to keep my car as quiet as possible, due to ******* cops around here. i used to own a truck with nothing more than a cat-back and they wouldn't leave me alone. i would honestly rather spend a couple grand on heads and cam work from powerheads, then go the exaust route, but would still like to keep this relatively inexpencive. and i really don't wanna supercharge it. what do you guys think? if i have to get an x-pipe with cats, how much louder will that make my car? any help is appreciated.

If you can drive.
gears. drag radials/slicks headers and exhaust should get you there easy with out having to touch the engine. Later, |
sweet, thanks. yeah, i can drive. lots and lots of practice. i didn't think it would take much, but didn't really know the capabilities of my car. oh yeah, i forgot to mention that i already have some nitto drag radials on my car.

All you need is gears and exhaust and you are there,

If your a decent driver all you should need is radials and gears. Low 13's aren't hard with the Cobras. They can almost run that stock. I've bone stock 96-98's run 13.5's consistently.

gears and a off-road X-pipe.......that should get you there easy
