I believe you have to get a tach driver, MSD makes one. ~Brian

only 99+ cars require the tach driver, because they have the coil-on-plug setup.

hopefully this picture will help you out

this is behind your stock cluster. Just tap into the tach signal wire and you're all set.

sweet thanks....is there anyway to hook it up under the hood though?

I'm not aware of one. But personally, I dont like running wires into the engine bay if at all possible. It clutters it up IMO.

You can also tap into the ECM connector, and I think that may be a tad easier than pulling the gage cluster out.

Find the pin 48 on your processor in your passenger side kickpanel. Its a tan/yellow wire.

I'm pretty sure this will work for you, but alot of the information I have on it says 96-97 cobras. So make sure yours isn't a coil-on plug setup, but I'm pretty sure its not, and you can do it this way.

good luck
