Annoyed

Is anyone else annoyed that by thier traction contol? This is nice when it's wet or icy but it sucks the rest of the time. I wish there was a way to default if off, and only turn it on when you wanted it. More than once I have tried to race someone and slammed my head in to the wheel because I spun the tires and lost a power.

I agree! I hated that thing and I too wished for the exact same thing as you, which was to have it default to off when the car was started so that I could turn it on only when needed. I was told this couldn't be done so I just had mine completely turned off with my last custom tune.

I couldn't agree more.I went to the track and was racing some smartass in a vette.Well there was a wreck before we got to race. So,I shut off my car until it was all cleared up.Needless to say, I forgot to turn the traction control off.It didn't do anything since I just did a quick burnout and then staged.Well ,off the line was a different story.Have you ever tried to shift gears and find that button at the same time?Takes some coordination.Funny thing is I still beat the vette by 0.2secs.He thought it was close, so next time I beat him by nearly a full second:)

get a chip and program it to shut it off. Not cheap but just an idea

Wait until the "off" light burns out on the button, then you'll have lots of fun at the track with that damn thing.....did I turn it off, I think I did, no maybe I didn't.....I burned that light out in the first two years I had the car because I always had it turned off.

I know this probably doesn't help much, but there was a company that made the ASR become reversed when the car came on. So when you started the car it automatically was off until you turned it on. I'll see if I can find that company and let yall know. Oh ASR (Acceleration Slip Regulation----F-Body and Ybody)

It's not really a big deal. Just put a little note on the dash reminding yourself to turn it off everytime you drive the car. After a couple weeks it'll become habit and the problem is solved. (Thats at least what my brother did with his '99.) Then at least you'll be able to use the traction control during inclimate weather.
