strut tower brace

I am going to install new Steeda Tower brace on my 98 GT Convertable. Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

YES. I can help!!!

This thing is a real pain in the A S S depending on how you do it. I have the steeda's for my GT Vert. I think your cobra is a two point brace, mine is a three point. Mine also attaches to the firewall (the third point).

Anyway, you have two options. You can drill the holes through the struts towers and then attach with lock nuts. Problem is you practically have to remove the wheels and springs as there is no room to work. I had to contort my hands like you would not believe to get those bolts on. It really sucked.

The second option is to actually drill and thread the strut towers so you don't have to use lock nuts at all. The metal is thick enough. I did not do this as I did not have the right tools, but GET THEM. The only downside is that you should check your bolts from time to time to be sure they are tight. Mine will never move with the lock nuts.
