Mac dumps on a 97

I got a 97 Gt and i want some dumps, but i cant find them for my year. Will 87-93 mac dumps work, part# PD2698? The magna flows are just to quiet.

Thanks

Good ol' cops, always killin the fun.

Yeah dumping the magnaflow is something to think about, any ideas on doing that. Would i just cut them right after the mufflers. or do i have to aim them down?

It'll give it a nice sleeper look till i start it up.

thats what I did and then I got some exhaust elbows and put them on and it worked good

and its drops over 20lbs from the car without the tail pipes

Sweet, that maybe be something i do in the near future, will there be a big difference in the sound?

Thanks for the info, that'll save me some $$$

sounds like what im lookin for, but i don't know if i can get rid of my tips. I like the way my car looks with them. Maybe i should invest in a new cat back. I made the mistake of havin a shop make me a cat back for 550$ for my magnaflows.
i am thinkin about gettin a mac catback with the 3.5 tips. I've heard some sound clips and im inpressed, should sound good with my prochamber. found a really good price on the kit.

BTW, would anybody be interested in some magnaflow mufflers and tips?

Thanks

where did you find a good price on one, if there is more than one to be had? I have been thinking about getting a mac catback for my 01, but cant find even a decent price.

ebay, ebay ,ebay. Never overlook it, i did and i spent over 500 bucks on something could have done myself for under 400, and it would look better.

Glad to hear your going with a full cat-back. A pro-chamber with dumps sounds like garbage (IMO). I had a youngin try to intimidate me with the same set-up...I told him it sounded "bad", he replied "thanks"...I said "no, I mean like crappy bad". Then the word wars were on and I had to school him on the street (By two car lenghts). Dumps sound good on a mid-high compression engine with a little lope to it, again IMO.

Anyone have a sound clip of flowmasters dumped, I have an offroad BBK H-pipe and 40 series flows and its not loud enough was thinking of chopping the tailpipes and putting turndowns on. Now I know this has been done out there but its a 20lb weight reduction can someone make a clip of an offroad H and flows dumped?? Thanks

I have the mac cat-back and offroad H-pipe on my 95 Cobra, my buddy and me installed an X-pipe and mac cat-back on his 03 GT. All I can say is sounds awesome on both cars!!!!! No regrets at all, and everybody gives great comments on the sound!!

While we are on the subject of dumping exhaust, I have a legality qiestion. I know (or at least I think I know) that in Texas, your tailpipes on passenger cars must extend beyond your rear axle (hence no dumps on cars). What about if you cut the pipes just after they come down over the axle? It wont extend to the rear of the car, but it will go beyond the axle. I will attempt to find a definate answer somewhere on the web, but if anyone knows, that would be great.

I think in general, every state requires the exhaust exits extend past the underside of the car whether it be front or rear of the axle. The problem is carbon monoxide leaking into the passenger's compartment. (as far as I know)
